Summer Blockbusters We Love

AMC Pacific Place 11

This summer movie season has been jam packed with crowd-pleasing blockbusters and box office bombs. Here are a couple flicks we thought were well worth the price of admission.

The Conjuring:

We’ll admit that we are chicken when it comes to horror movies. However, from what we could see through our hands, which covered our eyes, The Conjuring is thrilling, terrifying and a total crowd pleaser. Based on the TRUE STORY of paranormal investigators Ed and Lorraine Warren, The Conjuring took us on a terrifying ride as the Warren’s confront a demonic presence that is torturing a family’s country home. We couldn’t help leaving The Conjuring feeling like we got our money’s worth of scream worthy moments.

Pacific Rim:

When we first heard about the concept for Pacific Rim we couldn’t help but be excited. After all, who wouldn’t love a movie where 250 ft. robots battle 250 ft. monsters for the fate of the planet? The plot is easy to follow, the action is nothing short of epic, but the dazzling special effects are the most remarkable part of Pacific Rim. The giant, villainous monsters seem to pop right out of the screen, and the vividly colorful battle scenes kept us dreading blinking out of fear that we might miss another life like explosion.

Despicable Me 2:

After the first Despicable Me, we couldn’t wait to see its sequel – Despicable Me 2! We were delighted to find it was filled with the same wit, charm, and yes…minions. The plot changes from evil man turned loving father, to loving father falling in love. This feel good story includes the same humor as its prequel; entertaining audiences with mumbling minions and Gru’s giant heart. We’re convinced that our adult friends, and their kids will love this family friendly flick.
