The Three Absolute Must Have Accessories to Rock on Memorial Day

May is an incredibly eventful month. Jam-packed with holidays, celebrations, and the welcoming of warmer weather. It’s the month where everyone is outside soaking up the fun. In our beautiful state of Washington, May marks the beginning of one of the most beautiful seasons: music festival season. Make sure you’re rocking out in style by flaunting some of this season’s cutest accessories that will make any outfit memorable:

1.) Sunglasses

While we all adore the sun and are welcoming its blinding rays with open arms, make sure you’re able to welcome the sun with open eyes too. Sunglasses are not only an absolute necessity to walk, drive and basically perform any activity that involves unimpaired sight, they are also essential to perfecting any spring ensemble. Currently, we love the aviator look.

Seattle Sunglasses

While big frames of varying shapes will always be fashionable, the tinged bronzes, blues, and blacks of aviators are eternally trendy. Head to Michael Kors to peruse their nearly limitless selection of aviators and other sunglasses. If you can’t find the perfect pair at Michael Kors, go directly to Solstice Sunglasses where you’re destined to find the “IT” pair of sunnies!

2.) Hats

Hang up those beanies and ski caps because the weather is finally warm enough to utilize one of our favorite and most diverse accessories in a more fashion forward way! This year, we are absolutely crazy about the floppy hat trend. The wide brim not only provides a shaded layer of protection over your delicate face, but it also adds a demure and elegant air to absolutely any light spring ensemble. Club Monoco has an amazing selection of spring hats that are the perfect combination of beach and city. One of our favorites is the Sunni Hat. The black and white stripes are a staple pattern that is easy to accessorize with any assortment of solid colors.

Another really cute hat Club Monaco has on sale right now is their Hat Attack Floppy Hat. This hat has a chic spin on the floppy hat look that makes it perfect for the Bohemian festival princess that you want to be. The natural coloring and intricate beading dress up the hat in a subtle way that accentuates the hat’s minor details without overpowering the rest of your outfit.

Seattle Local Shopping3.) Cross Body Bag

Last, but certainly not least, you need to get a cross body bag this year. While giant floppy totes have a certain level of practicality (specifically, being able to hold literally all of your stuff at once), we’re thinking it’s time to end those shoulder problems and embrace simplicity. The cross body bag has been a sensation this year and has taken the handbag world by storm. If you haven’t already, make sure you get yours right away! You’ll find that the addition of a simple cross body bag can not only enhance your outfit but also force you to really limit yourself to carrying the bare necessities. We think J. Crew has a phenomenal selection of cross body bags this year. Their Sophie Small Cross Body Bag is absolutely adorable and comes in a huge assortment of colors.

The metal clasp in the center is not only a gorgeous ornament on the bag itself, but it ensures the safety of your belongings when you’re out and about this May!

You know what they say, April showers bring May flowers. While everyone else is busy focusing on the blossoming flowers, head to Pacific Place right now and pick up these must have accessories!
