Whether it’s a get-away with the girls, or a cross-country family reunion, you’re going to be out on the roadways, airways and maybe even waterways. We love car games just as much as the next person, but even the most avid small-talker needs a little break from reality. There really is no better way to escape than with a good book. Fantasy? Drama? Romance? Doesn’t matter. All that matters is you and the next page.

George R. R. Martin’s A Game of Thrones series

We know you’ve heard about the new HBO series Game of Thrones that has filled the television sets and hearts of all those around you. The thrilling fantasy drama that takes place during the feudal era has all the makings of a fantastic television series: scandal, elaborate costumes, and a multitude of characters with impossibly difficult names to pronounce. If you’re an avid fan of the TV series or plan to start watching it, then reading the book series it’s based off of should be your summer goal!

With your endless summer free-time, why not catch up on old favorites?
